Us, the things.
A material world, full, overflowing.
Bodies adapting, meeting, transforming, learning themselves, recognizing themselves.
Affected.
Things change, break, endure; they are treasure, altar, and trash.
Us, the things, whole and in parts, alive forever, pulverized, in the air or in the earth, we exist eternally.
We are not going anywhere; we simply mix differently.
NOSOTRAS
LAS COSAS
Nosotras las cosas (Us the things) is a stage device where we share and investigate possibilities of impact with different materialities, from a sensitive understanding of them.
This device takes the spatiality and choreographic dynamics of a fashion runway to appropriate and reconfigure it, in an attempt to dehierarchize the usual relationships between subject and object, the living and the inert, the human and the thing. We start from an almost cartographic imaginary that positions us as things, inviting us to a reflection that transcends the stage proposal to question ourselves politically and philosophically from an ecological perspective.
In this way, we seek to understand and share a material and emotional vision that displaces the human being from the center, highlighting a plane of existence and coexistence in which everything that exists has the capacity to influence others and is therefore extremely vibrant and vital.

NSTRSLSCSS emerged in 2021 as part of the Bachelor's Degree in Contemporary Dance at the Faculty of Arts - UDELAR. In 2021, I was a co-creator and performer of this work.
In 2024, we resumed this process with Ana Clara Jacques, inviting new performers to participate and placing ourselves in charge of directing the work. We premiered it in two performances, made possible thanks to the support of Centro Croma, which served as our home throughout the process and also during the openings.
